Sant Sarwan Dass Charitable Hospital

The 22nd October, 1982 will go down as a historic day for the people of this area when Shri 108 Sant Garib Dass Ji laid the foundation stone of a small dispensary for the benefit of poor people at Adda Kathar. It was beyond everybody’s imagination that this dispensary could develop into an institution with a yearly budget of more than rupees 2 crores in such a short span of time. It was natural that Sant Garib Dass Ji would dedicate this institution to the name of his Guru. Thus, Sant Sarwan Dass Charitable Hospital at Adda Kathar, district Jalandhar came into existence. It was constructed in a very short time and inaugurated on 1st January, 1984, when it started catering to the health needs of the poor people of the area. For a few years in the beginning need-based expansion was done, which was in the form of adding an X-ray machine, a small laboratory and a few indoor beds.

A new three story building was constructed which housed a modern operation theatre and indoor wards. This block was inaugurated on 7th Feburary 1992 on the occasion of Barsi Samagam of Sri 108 Sant Hari Dass Ji.

After Swami Garib Dass Ji since 23rd July 1994, Swami Niranjan Dass Ji Maharaj has been making continuous efforts for the improvement and expansion of the hospital.
